Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is the therapy used when you have underlying, untreated depression. We guide you to solve behavioral problems. Together we identify behaviors that prevent your healing process and recognize behavioral patterns that are not healthy for you.

Trauma Therapy

Our team helps you cope with grief, loss and other traumas that have negative psychological consequences.  Our counselors listen to your needs and provide coping resources to help you become resilient during unfortunate circumstances.

Motivational Interviewing

Our counselors are exceptional professionals that engage you in conversations that have open-ended questions to navigate the pros and cons of creating personalized goals.  These conversations provide clarity on changing your habits and behavior by taking the steps to a better future.

Psychotherapy

You have access to resources and tools that will empower you to acknowledge your struggle as we champion change. We focus on openly talking about mental illness and educating everyone we meet to overcome the stigma by viewing emotional distress, anxiety or any other mental health disorders from a different lens.

Family Sculpting

Practiced during our group therapy sessions, we facilitate the session so that participants roleplay characters in your story.  We start with you expressing how you felt about your family when you were growing up.  By roleplaying in a safe environment, you begin to process past traumatic experiences as we have robust conversations. As you participate, you begin to change the configuration of your family based on your emotions.

Psycho Drama

This approach is used in a larger group setting to help you process daily events in your life.  By dramatizing an event or series of events, your peers become the characters that reconstruct the scenario.  This cultivates different viewpoints of the scenario. Oftentimes it motivates others to process their own experience.

Holistic Healing

Body, mind and spirit captures our whole person approach to providing quality care.  We offer chiropractic service to restore, maintain and promote physical function by delivering a gentle, non-invasive therapy.

Our whole-person approach includes a healthier lifestyle, guiding you to take care of your body, mind and spirit to heal and align with your goals.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

A modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the main goal is to teach you how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, control your emotions, and improve relationships.

DBT is an evidence-based psychotherapy used in group or individual settings that can help you manage your emotions to include self-destructive behaviors such as eating disorders and substance use disorder.

Medication evaluation and management

We engage families to actively participate with you in developing a complete and accurate medication list. This starts the process to complete a medication reconciliation.

We start by asking you to bring all the medications you are currently taking, both prescribed and over the counter, to include non-oral medications such as injections, inhalers, ointments, and drops as well as medications you take occasionally. Once the complete and accurate medication list is created, we conduct a medication reconciliation by reviewing the medication information with you to determine if any changes are needed, to include:

  • Challenges in how you are taking medication
  • Possible interactions with other medications or over-the-counter medicine
  • Overdoses
  • Appropriateness as a treatment
  • Avoidable side effects

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

This is a trauma-focused approach to therapy.  EMDR prompts you to concentrate on back-and-forth movements and/or repetitive sounds while thinking of the traumatic event. The approach is to have the repetitive movements and sounds help to lessen the emotional, fear-based response to the traumatic event.

Exposure Therapy

This therapy is to help you confront your fears.  When you are fearful, you tend to avoid the feared objects, activities or situations.  Exposure therapy helps you break the pattern of avoidance and fear.  The therapy creates a safe environment in which to “expose” you to the things you fear and avoid.  The safe environment helps reduce fear and decreases avoidance.  Exposure therapy treats a range of disorders, including:

  • Phobias
  • Panic disorder
  • Social Anxiety disorder
  • Obsessive-Compulsive disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder

Co-morbid/co-occurring treatment

Chronic medical conditions and substance use often co-occur.  This co-occurrence is referred to as co-morbidity.  The extended use of medication involved in treatment of physical illness can sometimes lead to substance use as a coping method.

Our team approach to treating co-morbidity and substance use is a delicate process that guides you through the emotional anguish that stems from a physical diagnosis.

Life Skills

A life skill is a group of psychosocial competencies and interpersonal abilities. These skills help people with decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, communication, building healthy relationships and coping skills. Many adults who struggle with mental and behavioral health issues lack the basic life skills needed to live a normal and productive life.
